Maple Avenue Road Closure 2017

Maple Ave Press Release

Starting May 1st, the Village of Victor will be closing Maple Ave/State Rte 444 starting at Rte 96 /Main Street to the Village line. Use School Street as the detour, signs will be posted. The only cars allowed down Maple Ave are residents and local businesses.

Construction will take most of the summer and should be completed around September 1st. Updates will be posted on the web site at www.victorny.org and on our Facebook page Village of Victor.

Week of August 14:

Monday and Tuesday, ARC and St. Pat’s driveway aprons. Continuing to top soil and seed, weather permitting.

The 25mph speed limit was approved, signs have been ordered and there will be a 25mph ahead sign installed coming down RT 444 towards Maple Ave.

Final paving has been scheduled for Tues. Aug. 22, weather permitting.

Maple Ave. is still on schedule to be opened before Labor Day.

Public Hearing to lower the speed limit on Maple Avenue to 25 MPH on Monday, August 7 @ 7:00pm

Week of July 31:

Finishing driveway aprons on the Insulator side.
Continuing driveway aprons on St. Pat’s side starting at the Railroad Street end.

Now that the road has started to be paved, we have requested more police presence as the road is still closed.

The Village Board is holding a Public Hearing on August 7th to lower the speed limit to 25mph.

Week of July 24:

We will be finishing this round of paving on St. Pat’s side on Monday July 24th, weather permitting.

We will be removing the temporary asphalt ramps starting at 7:00 AM, please move your car to your neighbor’s driveway across the street OR to the Firemen’s Field. PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE STREET.

We will then continue replacing driveway aprons and top soil / seeding as time permits and weather cooperates!

Notices will be handed out.

Week of July 17:

Regrettably, the paving did not get completed on St. Pat’s side due to the rain. No paving is scheduled for the beginning of the week, possibly mid-week based on the paving company’s schedule as the weather is interfering with their jobs.

Notices will be handed out when the paving is scheduled.

Therefore, we will continue replacing driveway aprons and top soil on Insulator side.

Please be aware, that although there is blacktop down now, the road is still closed.

Even Side of Street (Insulator Side)

Mon. July 10, ends of driveways will be removed to prepare for asphalt paving on Tues. July 11. Notices were handed out.

Odd Side of Street (St. Pat’s Side)

Wed. July 12, ends of driveways will be removed to prepare for asphalt paving on Thus. July 12. Notices were handed out.

Continuing driveway aprons, top soil & seeding if time permits.

Week of July 10: Even Side of Street (Insulator Side)

Mon. July 10:
Ends of driveways will be removed to prepare for asphalt paving on Tues. July 11. Notices will be handed out.

Wed. July 12:
The opposite side (St. Pat’s side) ends of driveways will be removed to prepare for asphalt paving on Thurs. July 13. Notices will be handed out.

Week of June 26:

Curbing being poured starting Monday, weather permitting on St. Patrick’s side starting at the bridge and working towards Railroad Street. Notices were handed out to affected parcels.

Continuing driveway aprons from 162 Maple to Victor Insulator. Top soil and seeding if time permits.

Continuing driveway aprons on the Insulator side of the street from 136 Maple to the Insulator.

Top soiling and seeding on the same side.

Curbing on St. Patrick’s side has been pushed back to the week of June 26. Notices will be handed out.

On St. Patrick’s side of the street - Drainage all the way to Railroad Street
On Victor Insulator side of the street - Starting driveway aprons
Possibly top soiling and seeding if driveway aprons are completed

Finish boxing out street from East Street to Maple Ave bridge, North bound.

Start prepping driveway Aprons for concrete.

Installing underdrain on east side of street ,starting from Railroad Street to East Street, North bound.

Week of May 29 – June 2

Boxing out starting across the street from the Victor Insulators continuing towards East Street.

The next concrete pour is scheduled for the week of June 19. All affected residents/businesses will be notified.

Week of May 22 – 25:

Continue to remove concrete & brick from 141 Maple Ave to bridge, North Bound.

The Pipe Contractor, from last year, will be finishing pipe work in front of Victor Insulator Monday morning.

Finish boxing out road from Victor Insulators to Railroad Street.

Depending on the progress of the above work - Hynes Concrete will start to install curbing beginning at Victor Insulator and heading North towards Route 96 (the curb machine works against traffic).
