Town Parks & Recreation: Lifeguard & Swim Instructor Positions

The Town of Victor has openings for Lifeguard and Swim Instructor positions

Lifeguard Positions

The Town of Victor Department of Parks & Recreation is actively seeking Lifeguards. These positions are hourly to provide proficient supervision during pool activities. All lifeguards will be supervised by the Victor Central School District Aquatics Director and the Recreation Supervisor with the Town of Victor Department of Parks & Recreation. This is a part-time position with morning and Saturday hours available.

Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Supervise activities at pool
  • Manage pool area
  • Ensure safety of participants and staff
  • Operate admissions
  • Maintain rapport with participants and families
  • Maintain appropriate dress code as designated by the Victor Central School District Town of Victor Department of Parks & Recreation.

Qualifications:
  • Must be able to recognize and respond in emergencies.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work without constant supervision.

Applicants must be up to date with the following certifications:
  • Certification in Basic Lifeguard Training
  • CPR/First Aid/AED

Salary: Hourly, Based on Experience

Program Hours: Monday-Friday, 5:30 AM – 7:30 AM, and Saturdays 2:15 – 5:30 PM

Location: Victor Central Schools Aquatic Center


Swim Instructor Positions

The Town of Victor Department of Parks & Recreation is looking for Swim Lessons Instructors for our Swim Lessons Programs.

Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Provide competent and safe swimming instruction for children of all ages.
  • Plan and effectively organize class time for maximum practice.
  • Teach with encouragement and positive reinforcement.
  • Provide for consistency in instruction by working each assigned period.
  • Ensure safety of participants and staff.
  • Maintain rapport with participants and families.
  • Maintain appropriate dress code as designated by the Department of Parks 
  • & Recreation.

Qualifications: 
  • Ability to instruct swimming lessons.
  • Knowledge of swimming strokes and teaching levels.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work without constant supervision.
  • Must be able to recognize and respond in emergencies.

Applicants must be up to date with the following certifications:
  • Certification in Basic Lifeguard Training 
  • CPR/First Aid/AED 

Salary: Hourly, Based on Experience 

Program Hours: Saturdays, 2:15 – 5:30 PM

Location: Victor Central Schools Aquatic Center
